it would be neat if there were a database that classified songs by their chord progressions so that you could look up all songs that use a particular one.

The main thing I am currently wondering about is how to handle chords that go one for multiple measures, as that does matter when one is looking for one of these things. My instinct is for it to matter in entering the song, but to be abstracted out of the search.
